Yoga

Our classes involves a sequence of physical postures (asanas) that are designed to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and overall physical health. The class can also include breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve mental focus. I provide guidance and adjustments to ensure safe and effective practice. The pace and level of difficulty varies depending upon my clients experience, the overall goal is to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Meditation

Meditation involves training the mind to focus and quiet the mental chatter that can cause stress, anxiety, and other negative emotions. It involves techniques such as breath awareness, body scan, visualization, mantra repetition, and mindfulness.

Breath awareness involves simply observing the natural flow of the breath, while body scan involves bringing attention to different parts of the body, starting from the toes and moving upwards. Visualization involves creating a mental image of a peaceful scene or object, while mantra repetition involves silently repeating a word or phrase to calm the mind. Mindfulness involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment or distraction.

I will guide you on posture, breathing techniques, and how to deal with distractions and challenges that may arise during the practice.

The goal of meditation is to develop a greater sense of inner peace, clarity, and awareness, which can help improve mental and physical health, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a type of yoga that is practiced while sitting in a chair or using a chair for support. It is a gentle form of yoga that is accessible to people who may have limited mobility, balance issues, or other physical limitations that make it difficult to practice traditional yoga postures on the floor.

Chair yoga involves modified versions of traditional yoga poses, such as forward folds, twists, and side stretches, that are adapted to be performed while sitting in a chair. I can include breathing exercises, meditation, and relaxation techniques.

Chair yoga provides many of the same benefits as traditional yoga, such as improved flexibility, strength, balance, and stress reduction, while being accessible to a wider range of people. I can work at senior centers, rehabilitation facilities, and workplaces as a way to promote wellness and improve overall health.
